View Full Version : Video Poker calculator seems off?

Hello! I am very curious about your calculators. Specifically, I used the video poker trainer for 10/7 double bonus, and many of the results seriously conflicted with almost all other basic strategies seen elsewhere.

Two types of hands in particular:

JK673 (rainbow) - simulator tells to hold just the J, not both the K and J. (This extends to only holding the J when you replace the K with an Ace)

JJ884 - simulator tells to hold just the JJ

The second hand above (discarding two pair) is highly bizarre and not a supported strategy seen anywhere else on the internet.

Wondering if you can shed some light on this? The training tool itself is a great idea but unfortunately the engine seems to be highly suspect.

Thanks!

Yeah, discarding 2 pairs doesn't make sense.

I see what you mean about JJ884. We'll look into it.
